Preventative Care

Root Canals-Endodontics

Root Canal Therapy treats disorders of the nerve of the tooth. The decay of the tooth has caused the nerve to be irritated or abscessed. Treatment consists of opening the crown, removing the diseased part, then filling and sealing the tooth. In most cases the tooth can be saved in this procedure.

Sterilization

We use state-of-the-art Autoclave Heat Sterilization - another state-of-the-art feature of Desert Dental.

Wisdom Teeth

The third molars, or wisdom teeth, are called such because they develop in most individuals after they become adults, long after all other teeth are in place. It normally is around the age of 17. It is best to have the teeth removed during their developing stage, which is from ages 17 to 25. It is not only easier due to roots not being fully developed, but recovery time is much quicker.

Why Do Wisdom Teeth Need To Be Removed?

Kids Smiling with ParentsIn past times, our ancestor’s lifestyle was much different from ours. Life was harder, as were foods, thus they had larger teeth for tough chewing. Now our jaws are smaller, and foods softer and our wisdom teeth do not have room to fit properly in our mouth; they may become impacted which can chip or break our teeth. They can also cause gum disease or decay, can cause cysts (which can destroy jaw or teeth around the wisdom teeth) and rarely do they grow properly and remain healthy.

This is why they need to be removed, to keep the other teeth healthy and properly positioned in the mouth.
